Hardness test

The hardness test is performed using the durometer, which is capable of carrying out HV, HB, HRC, HRB type hardness tests.

It is a technological test that, by exploiting the penetration of a tool called a penetrator subjected to a known load, is able to determine the surface hardness characteristic of materials and welded joints in accordance with European and international standards.

When the test is performed on welded joints, it is carried out on the various areas involved such as: base material, heat-affected zone, and weld according to a number of measurements that depends on the applicable standard or norm.
